A Letter From Our CEO, Ian Ericson
Welcome,
When I joined Justice Works as Web Developer, I stepped into a company with a strong foundation—built by our founder, Carl Richey, whose vision and dedication created a platform that has already made a meaningful impact across the justice community. Carl’s passion for helping legal organizations work more effectively and his commitment to building real, lasting solutions are the backbone of everything we do. He set the standard for how we listen, collaborate, and deliver technology that truly supports the people who serve justice every day. I’m grateful for his leadership and proud to carry that legacy forward.
Working different positions at Justice Works, I had the privilege of working closely with legal professionals who were frustrated with the systems they were stuck using—outdated tools that didn’t reflect the pace or complexity of their work. I saw firsthand how much better things could be with the right technology and the right partner. That experience shaped my passion for helping organizations refine their processes and adopt solutions that actually fit their needs.
At Justice Works, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all software. Every organization we work with is different, and we treat them that way—building platforms that adapt to individual workflows, goals, and challenges. And we don’t disappear after implementation. We continue to partner, support, and grow with our clients to make sure their systems evolve alongside them.
I have gained a deep respect for the legal community and the important, often overburdened and difficult work being done every day to serve others and uphold justice. Being able to support that mission is something I don’t take for granted. It means a lot to me to build real relationships with the people behind that work, and I’m genuinely grateful for the trust so many organizations have placed in us. Every partnership we form is personal, and it’s an honor to walk alongside our clients as they do such meaningful work.
